Building safety in South Africa is the responsibility of the National Regulator for Compulsory Standards and the South African Bureau of Standards, both under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. South Africa’s building regulations can be viewed on the private South African Building Regulations website and specific construction standards can be purchased from the South African Bureau of Standards store.
