Building safety in Kenya is the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works. The Building Code of the Republic of Kenya was published in 2009, based primarily on British and South African standards, and is available online from the Kenya Property Developers Association. Contractors, developers, and projects are licensed and regulated by the National Construction Authority.
