Training
The International Code Council is uniquely qualified to provide training on various aspects of the International Codes (I-Codes). Training courses are available in-person and online in a multitude of topics related to building safety.
Training programs offered (in English only at this time) by the ICC Learning Center include:
- Code-specific courses to increase knowledge about each of the codes published by the International Code Council as well as International Code Council standards.
- Career path and continuing education courses in multiple disciplines related to building safety, including inspectors, permit technicians, code officials, etc.
- Test academies to help professionals prepare for credentialing exams.
- Specialty courses for architects, interior designers, disaster responders, safety professionals and management.
Onsite and web seminars, primarily related to seismic design and structural codes and standards, are offered by S.K. Ghosh Associates LLC, a member of the International Code Council family of solutions.

The ICC Learning Center can also develop custom curricula based on special requirements or customized building codes. Recently, the Code Council offered customized training in Saudi Arabia to government officials needing to deepen their knowledge of the new Saudi Building Codes. The International Code Council has also developed specialized training for the new energy code introduced for the Caribbean by the CARICOM Regional Organization for Standards and Quality.
The International Code Council maintains a program of approved third party providers of training and educational content – the Preferred Provider Program. The program recognizes and promotes educational programs related to codes, standards and guidelines, as well as building construction materials, products and methods. Third party providers approved by the International Code Council collectively form the Preferred Provider Network (PPN). The PPN provides an easily accessible network of extensive training opportunities for interested professionals.
